YMCA of Broward County

The YMCA of Broward County, now known only as the Y, was inherited as a large HTML static mess. Oh Boy! We always encourage clients to properly plan for growth; it saves time and money. Blackstone Media Group acquired WebLadyBug in 2009. In November 2010 the Y began to grow and just before the national corporate rebranding we were asked to "do it and do it fast ... by Jan 1, 2011."

We studied the trends of over 12,000 visitors a month seeking information for seven locations in South Florida and came up with a design that was easy to navigate and flexible. Knowing the users is key in user interface design.

In just under 8 weeks we:

• Finalized designs
• Programmed ExpressionEngine to handle the massive amount of content
• Converted over 120 pages of existing content
• Updated the brand of the new Y on all the downloadable material
• Tweeked out email marketing
• Assisted internal IT department on transition
• Read over 475 emails regarding the project
• Drank gallons of coffee
• And managed to take Christmas off
